Finally done, this one was for a contest with the theme "East meets the West" at the anime/manga convention Meuwon:03

It was a one-shot, I made the scetch on the train to school, and then I inked it in school which took around 3-4 hours. Then I colored it as fast as I could in photoshop. Which took around 6 hours total. I was finished with the piece in the middle of the night.

All that hard work paid off, I won the contest. The prize was some color pencils and a toy (which I later gave to my friend as a birthday gift)

Why I call this "East meets the West" is based on the western food culture and it's impact on the east-asian culture. I simply wanted to make something unpleasant rather than something pretty.

I am not fully satisfied with the result, but I basically had 24 hours to finish the picture, so the coloring was pretty rushed.

ah and yes - I choosed yellow and red because that's the McDonald's colors.

jora man fick hämta ut sitt pris. Men lix... man vill ju ha lite strålkastarljus duvet. En prisutdelning där dom ropar upp vinnaren och folk applåderar n stuff... det är ju det man vill ha! Betydligt mer värt än totoro-pennor och en massa godis (det var mitt pris typ)

It's awesome because it's true! I can't believe how people where soooo happy when we got a Burger King here. I thought it was nasty.

Very vibrant and eye catching. What's funny is that the colors you put her in (McD's colors) are suppose to provoke hunger within the human mind. It's very interesting since you combined with how gross people can look when eating.

one funny thing with yellow and red is that they are not only colors for hunger. But also are used as a Warning. McDonald's choosed these colors to make the customers hungry, but at the same time leave the place as fast as possible. Symbols and colors have more impact in the human mind than you think!
